The 2012 Walk season is complete!  Congratulations to all 23 chapters that hosted fun walking events this year.  Rain or shine, walkers strolled through city parks and zoos, on gravel and grass, with family and friends in communities of all sizes.  Chapters across the country hosted more than 11,000 participants representing more than 900 Walk teams. Together they raised more than $1.5 million to support the bleeding disorders community.

Thank you to the staff and boards of the local chapters, individual walkers and teams, national sponsors and local businesses, individual donors and the countless number of volunteers who supported all of the efforts of the Walks.  Without you, these Walks would not have been possible.

NHF is already planning ahead for an exciting 2013 Walk season. NHF is excited to announce the participation of these six new Walk chapters into the program, making nearly 30 Walk sites in all:

  • Bleeding Disorders Foundation of Washington (Seattle)
  • Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (Washington, DC)
  • Hemophilia Association of San Diego County (San Diego)
  • Hemophilia Foundation of Oregon (Portland)
  • Midwest Hemophilia Association (Leawood, KS)
  • Sangre de Oro (Albuquerque, NM)

We would also like to acknowledge the support of our national sponsors of the Walk program.  NHF is pleased to have Baxter as the National Presenting Sponsor in 2012, leading our group of national sponsors, which includes:  Pacesetter Sponsor Bayer HealthCare, Official Sponsors Grifols and Pfizer, and Supporting Sponsor Biogen Idec Hemophilia.
